| | Shelter Law |
 | | This case purports to be the first case testing "The Hayden Law" (infra) and "The Vincent Law", which requires shelters to spay and neuter all impounded animals prior to release to the public. |
 | | This bill would set forth the findings of the Legislature with respect to animal shelters, humane organizations, lost or stray animals, and neuter programs, declare the policy of the state with respect to adoptable and treatable animals, as specified, and set forth the intent of the bill. |
 | | This bill would, effective July 1, 1999, expand this minimum impound time to 4 or 6 business days, as specified, and would require that the animal be released to a nonprofit animal rescue or adoption organization in certain circumstances, subject to specified exceptions. |
