  Bill O'Reilly
O'Reilly disagrees with a common claim that he is a conservative, preferring to call himself a traditionalist and a populist.
O'Reilly has explained that some of these relationships were inadvertent on his part, such as when Republican Congressman Chris Shays asked him to speak at a charity benefit in Greenwich, Connecticut, without telling him that it was for a Republican-backed cause.
Though O'Reilly has stated that he does not endorse politicians for office, on the September 24, 2005 edition of The O'Reilly Factor, he advised his viewers to vote for Republican Doug Forrester in the 2005 New Jersey gubernatorial election, suggesting that Jon Corzine, a Democrat, would not be as tough on child molesters..

I've heard Bill take hits because of his viewpoints on certain things, but he doesn't compromise his integrity for ratings, which can't be said of many personalities on TV and radio.
Bill is on TV, on the Fox News Channel with The O'Reilly Factor and on radio with the Radio Factor.
Bill obviously has respect for Dan Rather and feels that Dan wouldn't have gone ahead with the story had he known for sure that the story was false.

Bill O'Reilly has referred to the signers of the Statement as "anti-American" and has said they should be "held accountable" for the expression of their dissenting opinion.
The NION Project, an effort that shares the politics of the Statement of Conscience, is organizing mass resistance against the government's global war campaign, attacks on civil liberties, and detentions and roundups of immigrants.

Newsvine - Bill O'Reilly's Baroque Period
Mainly, O’Reilly, like every political talk-show host with a big following, is a populist, who, in his beyond-irony way, is a rich, middle-aged white guy aligned with the ruling party, and who has the guts to stand up to the élitists who run (but also hate) this country.
So he delivers O’Reilly’s brusque, jabbing hand gestures, and his primary-colored opinions, with a goofy half-smile, as if he were a kid playing dress-up in his dad’s clothes.
Like O’Reilly, Colbert has guests, but he often uses his fake right-wing persona to score points for the left, as he did last week when he pretended to grill Keith Olbermann for his attacks on O’Reilly.

Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly and a female co-worker who had accused him of sexual harassment have reached an out of court settlement, agreeing to drop all allegations against each other, his lawyers have said.
The settlement, details of which were kept confidential, came a day before O'Reilly's accuser and her lawyer were due in court to divulge whether she had recordings of her telephone conversations with the commentator.
Andrea Mackris, 33, an associate producer for The O'Reilly Factor, had sued the talk show host earlier this month, claiming he had repeatedly pressured her to engage in sexually explicit conversations over the phone, talking about vibrators, masturbation and pleasuring himself at times as he spoke.

The New McCarthy: Bill O'Reilly (Aaron Swartz's Raw Thought)
Last week Bill O'Reilly, in what can be most charitably described as a colossal brain-fart, claimed that the massacre was in fact committed by the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division.
Since O'Reilly has written more sensibly about the Malmedy massacre elsewhere, I suspect that he simply forgot the details of the event and in his fervor just assumed that the U.S. Army was responsible for this war crime.
True, Bill O'Reilly has no power of supena, but he holds a much higher chair in the ever-problematic "Court of Public Opinion" Which is much harder to sway out of it's concrete boots.

When he appeared on Bill O'Reilly's Fox News Channel show last week, Georgetown law professor David Cole was impressed that the hard-charging host played, as part of his opening commentary, "a balanced sound bite" from the chairman of the 9/11 commission.
O'Reilly calls "totally absurd" the suggestion that he cut the sound bite "because it didn't fit my thesis." A producer had simply selected a clip that wasn't right for the segment, he says.
O'Reilly sees this as part of "a pretty well organized campaign" on the left to monitor his television and radio shows.

Bill O'Reilly is the conservative pundit liberals love to hate, and he gets a thrashing in this book-length "intervention" that, in debunking many claims O'Reilly has made on his television and radio shows, relies on the same dubious rhetorical weapons O'Reilly is despised for wielding: mudslinging, name calling and character assassination.
Fashioned as an intervention to prevent O'Reilly from being any more outraged and outrageous than he already is, Amann and Breuer explore the myriad ways that O'Reilly attacks liberals but denies his conservatism, and disregards civil liberties and the simple truth.
O'Reilly's claim of "no-spin" objectivity is the primary target, as the authors cite numerous excerpts from transcripts of O'Reilly's show to demonstrate his constant spin, contradiction, and misstatement.
