Billy Fury, who died last week of a heart attack in his London home at the age of 42, had the talent and potential to become one of Britain's most enduring pop performers, but ill-health dogged his career.
By this time, ill-health had forced Fury into virtual retirement at his farm in North Wales where with his wife Lisa he was to concentrate on breeding horses and become actively involved in wildlife conservation.
A third single was due to be released next week, and Fury was confident enough of his health to have laid plans for a major British tour.
