Billy Sianis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Billy Sianis was born in Greece and some time in the early 1900s immigrated to the United States, where he became a prominent Chicago bar owner, opening the famous Billy Goat Tavern in 1934.
Sianis, according to believers of the curse, was enraged that such action was taken against him and his goat, and he then cursed the team, hoping that they would never again win the World Series.
Not much was known about Sianis after that incident, except that his bar was passed on to Sam Sianis and that Billy Sianis led a quiet life after this event, and probably became a White Sox fan, until his death in 1970.
