BINH DUONG — Home to 853 FDI projects worth US$4.5 billion, the southern province of Binh Duong now appears to be one of the top destinations in Viet Nam for foreign investors.
For Binh Duong’s success, economists point to steady improvements in its investment mechanism and policies, administrative procedures and infrastructure, and the availability of highly-trained workers familiar with an industrial working style.
Following the strong FDI flows, the province’s economic structure has shifted rapidly — the industrial sector now accounts for 66 per cent of its economy, with focus mainly on export items, the services sector for 24 per cent and the agricultural sector for 10 per cent.
