Biollante - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Biollante (Biorante in Japanese), is one of the few female daikaiju from the Godzilla series and a popular monster of the Heisei era.
Biollante can choke the life out of an enemy with her vines and they can spray a radioactive projectile from them.
At first, Biollante fights so she can defend herself and does not actually try to destroy the enemy, her human/rose side is the dominant personality; but in the second form, she changes.

However, Godzilla easily defeats Biollante by blasting her to pieces with his atomic breath, and the besieged creature discorporates into a form of pollen and retreats into the atmosphere.
Biollante became the first dai kaiju born of genetic engineering, and not radiation, mysticism or extraterrestrial origins, as was always the case in the past.
Biollante, despite her very fearsome appearance, didn’t present much of a threat to the Big G, and I believe that she was the least exciting of all his foes in the Heisei Series (she was actually better realized, albeit as a villian, in Marc Cerasini's novel GODZILLA AT WORLD'S END).

Biollante's initial form proves to be a nearly worthless adversary to the newly revised Godzilla, and at one point forms a shield with its vines, cowering in fear.
Biollante's acid spit is impressive late in the movie, but the addition of the optical animation was unnecessary and seems out of place in the struggle.
Biollante's charge on Godzilla is repeated within a matter of minutes using the same exact footage.

 Biollante
Biollante („Éì„Ç™„É©„ɍ„ÉÜ - Biorante) is a daikaiju that appeared in the 1989 film Godzilla vs. Biollante.
Biollante grows into a giant roselike flower in the lake, a docile form that nonetheless features teeth in its bud and vines and emits eerie calls.
The final form of Biollante was animated via suitmation by Masashi Takegumi, who used a pole to operate the creature's maw, and via wireworks, which controlled her several tentacles.

Godzilla vs. Biollante - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In addition to the genetic mutation Biollante and the second incarnation of the "Super X" flying battleship, it features a heavy element of espionage and several action sequences inspired by the James Bond films.
The Super-X 2, a remote controlled and stronger version of the Super-X from The Return of Godzilla, is deployed, and though at first seems effective in combating Godzilla, is eventually overwhelmed by Godzilla's heat ray, and is forced to retreat.
The battle between Biollante's final form and Godzilla was intended to be in stop motion animation.

Stomp Tokyo Review - Godzilla vs Biollante (1989)
Shiragami dubs the monster "Biollante," which he claims is a plant creature from Norse mythology.
However, we would guess that the word Biollante is an japanization of the word "violet," so that might give some enterprising reader a place to start if they want to figure this little mystery out.
Godzilla vs Biollante is most important as the first engaging movie since the franchise was resurrected in 1984.

Biollante is the result of an experiment in genetic engineering.
The creature was created by splicing together the DNA of three organisms: a rose, a human female (Erica, daughter of the scientist), and Godzilla himself.
Later, Biollante reappears as a grossly mutated plant-monster (see picture) who, at 200,000 tonnes, is Godzilla's most massive opponent ever.

Meanwhile a scientist has created a new plant/human hybrid called Biollante using DNA from his dead daughter mixed in with that of a plant.
Biollante, by far the biggest ever opponent for Godzilla, doesn't do that much although the make-up and special effects for it are interesting to say the least.
I'd have preferred to have seen Biollante battle Godzilla a little more but obviously the budget wouldn't extend to too many fights, especially given the complexity of shooting with Biollante's multiple tentacles.

Goji got a bit beat up and some of the rose petals on Biollante got flattened (which was a pain to fix), but soon the prototype sculpts were fixed, finished, and shipped to back to Tokyo for mold preparation on 07/13/2001, provided that we receive our approval on time.
That may help the neck turn better?), and the molds were cut; Biollante along the rosebud, and Godzilla horizontally across the neck with an insertion ring inside the neck to make it rotatable.
We were even able to make the two vine-horn thingies of Biollante rotatable, which was more than we had hoped for.

Plus there's the rosebush (dubbed "Biollante" ostensibly after a character in Norse mythology -- what the hell, it's better than "Posie"), who exerts some kind of influence on Godzilla since it is half-cloned from his cells.
