Biomass, also known as biomatter, can be used directly as fuel or to produce liquid biofuel.
Most sorts of biomatter, including dried manure, can actually be burnt to heat water and to drive turbines.
Biomatter energy, under the right conditions, is considered to be renewable.

  The Sanctum-Nexagon: The Pit
This uniquely conditioned mass of especially compliant biomatter forms a convenient, sloped ramp that will allow your units access to a higher understanding.
Ripened to a mature form, this biomatter pillar is a mainstay of decorative fare amongst architectural authorities in the Aldus system.
Designed to look exactly like a normal Olfrum Biomatter Cube, this structure will actively detect enemy units passing by and belch a spray of organic toxins causing potentially lethal damage to the unsuspecting victim.

ANTIOPIC | The Allegorical Power Series Volume VII | December 2003
The valuable thing is no longer gold or a diamond, but the "biomatter man..."'.
However, different conclusions (perhaps still coherent with SPK /PF practice) might be drawn, if all activity and matter itself are rigourously understood to be modes of duration, in Bergson's sense.
In this case it becomes clear that the extraction of surplus value directly from human biomatter 'as means of production' is no less an expropriation of living-duration (i.e.

ISA | Sewage as base of power
Ashok Bhattacharya's team figured out how to extract very pure levels of hydrogen from wet biomatter, such as sewage or paper mill waste.
Previous attempts to extract pure hydrogen from biomatter to power fuel cells met with only limited success, even with dry material.
The new process extracts very pure hydrogen from the difficult but abundant wet biomatter and even allows the material's water to generate more pure hydrogen.

Enterprise is also equipped with a transporter system, designed primarily to beam cargo and technology to and from the ship.
Prior to launch the transporter platform was approved for use with biomatter, but the crew is still wary of using it on themselves, preferring instead to get around in the shuttlepods.
When away teams return from alien environments where they are at risk of exposure to unusual radiation or microbes, they will receive a bioscan in the decon chamber.

New Water Reuse Technology Reduces Water Consumption by 95%, Wastewater Pollution by 100% and Recycles All Household ...
In 1999 the Equaris Corporation began experimenting with various National Sanitation Foundation certified water filtration and disinfection equipment to further treat the Equaris greywater effluent to meet federal and state standards for surface discharge.
Lee explained that Olmsted County had purchased and installed an Equaris Biomatter Resequencing Converter and Greywater Treatment System at a county owned single-family residence in 1994 to test the system's capabilities of reducing nitrate pollution and water consumption.
Lee provided Wellner with the county conducted test results, which documented the system's capabilities of reducing water consumption by 40%, a 90% or greater reduction in total nitrogen, BOD, suspended solids and a 1,000 fold reduction in Fecal Coliform levels sent to the drainfield.

I suppose an Evoke Area [Biomatter] would work but I thought it was designed more as a magic missile, fireball, Aganazaar's Scorcher type of direct damage spell list.
If you used Evoke Area [Biomatter] to summon a swarm of critters, then couldn't Evoke [Biomatter] be used to summon a single critter?

 Natural Perspective: Fungus Kingdom
In addition to the beauty of mushrooms, fungi provide a critical part of nature's continuous rebirth: fungi recycle dead organic matter into useful nutrients.
Sometimes the fungus doesn't wait for the biomatter to die, in which case the fungus is called a parasite.
Many plants, however, are dependent on the help of a fungus to get their own nutrients, living in a symbiotic relationship called a mycorrhizal association.
