Birmingham International station was opened by British Rail at the same time as the West Midlands was waking up to the fact that local rail services had their uses eg: the Cross City Line soon to open.
When you enter the station through the entrance shown at the top of the page you have to go up to the concourse which is on the first floor and into the waiting area then down to platform level.
