The west to northwest side of the Village of Biron is bordered by the Wisconsin River.
Biron now has a population slightly larger than the Biron that I knew as a boy when all the parts of Biron are included rather than just the center.
That is as true in Biron and Wisconsin Rapids as in the rest of America.

The commission found the Wisconsin employes who lost their employment because of the labor dispute at the Chicago terminals were eligible for benefits because, although there was a strike or lockout which caused their unemployment, the Chicago terminals were not the "establishment" or a part thereof in which the employes were employed.
The court applied the three-factor test to each employer's Wisconsin terminals and the same employer's Chicago terminal and determined that the labor dispute was not in active progress in the establishment in which the claimants of the respective employers worked.
Wisconsin Statute § 108.22 (8)(c), provides that the department shall waive the recovery of overpaid benefits if the overpayment was the result of departmental error, and the overpayment did not result from the fault of the employe.

Stora Enso North America will eliminate about 490 jobs in central Wisconsin by mid-2005 as part of an effort to cut $65 million in annual fixed costs, the company said Tuesday.
The central Wisconsin mills in Wisconsin Rapids, Biron, Stevens Point and Whiting will decline from 2,638 employees to about 2,148 by mid-2005, Laatsch said.
Economic impact will be felt throughout Wisconsin, said Gerry Ring, interim chairman of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Paper Science Department.
