I have both a Kwandao (made in 1979 not an antique & not for sale sorry) and a bisento (age uncertain but I don't think its any older than 40 or 50 years not for sale either sorry again) must disagree with Mr.
The bisento while a lovely weapon in its own right, is in no way even close to being a "supped up verision" of the KD.
The KD was designed for use both on horseback and on foot, while the bisento was an infantry weapon.
