Bishop (android) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bishop 341-B is a fictional character from the Alien series of films, an android created by the Weyland-Yutani corporation and played by Lance Henriksen.
The android was modelled after his creator, Weyland-Yutani robotics engineer Michael Bishop who is the "Bishop II" seen in Alien 3, as confirmed in both the Alien 3 novelization and 2003 DVD commentary for Alien Quadrilogy by Lance Henriksen.
Bishop was a synthetic (or "artificial person", as he preferred to be called), a very advanced human-like robot assigned to the Colonial Marine vessel Sulaco.

Sci Fi Wire -- The News Service of the Sci Fi Channel
As the head of Weyland Industries, a precursor to the Weyland-Yutani Corp. referenced in the first Alien film, Henriksen's character is the implied inspiration for the future android Bishop, whom he portrayed in Aliens and Alien 3.
Lance Henriksen, who plays billionaire industrialist Charles Bishop Weyland in the upcoming franchise hybrid film Alien vs. Predator, told SCI FI Wire that director Paul W.S. Anderson wrote the role specifically for him, as a nod to the previous Alien films.

I have an idea for android that is either going to be stationed on the planet, waiting for the Alien eggs and the Predators to arrive, or comes along with the marines (maybe it's one of the marines) to help kill off the Predators (please read my Nov. 14th post to learn more).
The scene could be set in a dark room, and the droid is standing there holding a flamethrower and all of a sudden, an Alien rises from behind and stabs the droid through the chest with it's tail and also impales it's tongue through the droid's head.
Seeing as how the Bishop android is modeled after Weyland, the immediate visual of the actor playing Yutani in my mind would be...Ian Holm.

Henriksen balances life as a human and android
He played the helpful androids named Bishop in the futuristic thrillers ''Aliens'' and ''Alien 3,'' but he plays a present-day, flesh-and-blood human in the new ''Alien vs. Predator'' movie.
His character's last name also relates back to the ''Alien'' universe, which began with the 1979 movie starring Sigourney Weaver as the last survivor of the starship Nostromo, battling the spiney, acid-dripping, human-gobbling, extremely unfriendly extraterrestrial pests.

So, the human Bishop's appearance as a founder and agent of the company in AVP and Alien 3 is puzzling.
In a bid to save this last remaining Alien, Weyland-Yutani sends Charles Bishop Weyland to secure an unborn alien queen embyro, but it is destroyed.
A side note, Bishop like Ash was designed and manufactured at Cyberdine Systems which was not a subsidiary of Weyland- Yutani(the company).

 Bishop (android)
Bishop is a fictional character from the Alien series of films.
The film Alien Vs. Predator, a separate film series with tenuous relation to the Alien mythos, names Charles 'Bishop' Weyland as the android's creator and Michael Bishop as merely an android of the same model.
Bishop was an android created in the 22nd century by the Weyland-Yutani corporation, in the image of 21st century pioneer of robotics Michael Bishop, a Weyland-Yutani employee.

However, in the novelization of Alien³ (released before Alien Vs. Predator), it is made clear that the Bishop android was created by a Weyland-Yutani employee named Michael Bishop, which the Alien Vs. Predator filmmakers either chose to ignore or didn't consider Canon.
He is played by Lance Henriksen, the actor that played the android Bishop in Aliens and Alien³, suggesting that the android was modelled after him.

Actually, I've heard on the IMDB board (fans of the Alien series) that the man who made the Bishop android model is called Michael Bishop, and he's the one in Alien3, as well, he is a human not an android because you could see him bleed red blood not white.
Therefore, Charles Bishop and Michael isn't the same person (people believe that this is another screwup by Anderson, while others believe that Charles could be Michael's ancestor).
Then why is Bishops birthdate set at 2127 (May 5)?

In AVP the character of Charles Bishop Weyland (Lance Henriksen) is the billionaire owner of the Weyland Company which will eventually become Weyland Yutani the “evil” corporation from the Alien franchise.
This still does not conflict with Weyland-bishop continuity because at one point in Alien3 Michael Bishop is struck from behind tearing away one of his ears which can be seen hanging oddly from the side of his head revealing that he is in fact an android sent to deceive Ripley.
The “Bishop” part of the name is of course a reference to the Bishop Android character from Aliens (also Lance Henriksen).
