	Bishopston, Bristol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Bishopston is an inner-suburb in north Bristol, England, situated on the Gloucester Road, the main northern arterial road in the city.
		The parish of Bishopston was then created in July 1862 with a population of 1300 and expanding to 9140 in the Census 1901.
		In the Census 2001 Bishopston registered a resident population of 11,996.

		In 1925 the official guide book boasted of the Bristol North Corporation Bathing Establishment being; 'a fine one' and having 'an aeration and filtration plant installed.' Now the future of the Baths is uncertain and may face closure for being out of date.

		It is part of an old track which is supposed to be very ancientand to have led from Bristol to Horfield and beyond to Charlton Compton, Pilning and Aust.
		Unfortunately the old documents of the diocese of Bristol, in regard to the Manor of Horfield were destroyed by fire at the time of the 1831 Riots.
		There were however definitely a series of lanes which led via Tyne Path and the route of the later Tyne Road, across what became Berkeley and Egerton Roads and subsequently through to Bishop Road.
