The village of Bisley, in Surrey, England, is well known to rifle marksmen around the world.
The competition is hosted by the NRA on its Bisley ranges - land owned by the Ministry of Defence, and also providing a base for the Royal Logistic Corps.
It lies on the edge of the Chertsey Abbey estate, and the 13th century church was donated to the village by the Abbey monks over 600 years ago.

BISLEY is a parish and village, in the County of Surrey, England, situated 2 miles north from Brookwood station and 4 miles north-west from Woking.
Bisley was held of the Abbey of Chertsey until 1327 when it was assigned to Queen Isabella as part of the Manor of Byfleet.
The history of Bisley followed that of Byfleet until the reign of James I. In 1620 Bisley was granted to Sir Edward Zouch along with Woking, Chobham and Bagshot.

Following this meeting club representatives were asked to explain the details to their individual clubs and return on Wednesday 25 September 1946.
From those early beginnings the Association, as it has become, now consists of 54 clubs lying or adjacent to the west of a line from Molesey in the north of Surrey to Capel in the south.
