CANALASKA VENTURES LTD Annual and Transition Report (foreign private issuer) (20-F) EXHIBIT 99
Bismuth and tellurium contents have been widely applied to zoning models for plutonic-related gold occurrences in the Tintina Gold belt and Kuskokwim Mineral belt (Flanigan and others, 2000, McCoy and others, 1997, McCoy and others, 2002).
The presence of small gold-bearing intrusives near the crest of Gold Hill and the presence of native bismuth, native arsenic, telluride minerals and bismuth-gold nuggets in concentrates suggests the possibility of a proximal intrusive-hosted gold occurrence in the area.
Tellurides of silver and/or bismuth (including hessite or volynskite) have been tentatively identified in the intrusive-hosted veins and trace tetrahedrite has been identified in wall-rock stockworks (Herzberg, 1980).

More specifically, compounds of copper, iridium, lead, bismuth, cadmium, zinc, (chalcogens of sulfur, selenium and tellurium), and compounds of gold and precious metals of Group VIII can be used during the step of forming silver halide precipitate, thereby controlling the properties of the silver halide grains, as is described in U.S. Pat.
Therefore, the relative speed at which silver telluride is formed can easily be obtained by the same method as used in determining the amount of silver sulfide formed in a silver halide emulsion from the infinite reflectivity of the emulsion to visible light beams (520 nm) in accordance the Kubelka-Munk formula.
A telluride dissolved in an organic solvent (e.g., methanol) is added to the emulsion, in an amount of 1.times.10.sup.-3 mol/mol Ag.

Specialty metals produced in the late 1990s include cadmium telluride, cadmium sulfide, lead telluride, zinc telluride, and high purity copper cylinders.
It should be noted that in 1998, EPA required additional industries to report releases to the environment, referred in the previous table as "add industries." These additional industries were metal mining, coal mining, electric utilities, chemical wholesalers, petroleum bulk terminals, and RCRA/solvent recovery.
Bismuth is a metal like lead and arsenic and is used in making pharmaceutical products (for example, Pepto Bismol).

For example, if it is desired to produce a fine grained casting, one would try to produce a very large number of nuclei and distribute them randomly throughout the melt.
For example, it is known that defects are generated (or nucleated) at the tri- junction between the container wall, the solid, and the melt during directional solidification and that these defects tend to propagate along a direction perpendicular to the melt-solid interface.
The degree of fluid motion is also known to have an influence on defect concentration and distribution as demonstrated by the striations observed in Czochralski-grown materials.

An indium antimonide (InSb) based material that operates in the far infrared region would be a strong competitor to mercury-cadmium-telluride (MCT) semiconductors in this market.
To achieve this, Galaxy proposes adding Bismuth (Bi) to the alloy to extend the wavelength.
Prototypes of the new detector will be tested, opening up new markets for Galaxy and increasing interest in InSbBi semiconductor materials.

Thus, optimal poling of thin films demands control of the crystallographic texture of the cubic phase during deposition, combined with control of the biaxial stresses that influence domain selection during cooling through Tc.
In this talk, we describe templates (e.g., layered compounds such as bismuth titanate) and processing conditions that yield strong uniaxial texture in PZT thin films on Si substrates.
Details of this behavior and its modification due to doping/alloying with sodium and hydrogen will be discussed in the paper.
