		Bite the Bullet is a 1975 western directed by Richard Brooks starring Gene Hackman, James Coburn and Candice Bergen.
		It concerns a grueling 700 mile cross-country horse race taking place in the early twentieth century and the way it affects the lives of the various participants.
		Also, Bite The Bullet is the name of a NYC Rock Band called "[Bite The Bullet]".

		Although Alex North's music sounds fine in Richard Brooks's movie western, Bite the Bullet (1975), the soundtrack is much more impressive when heard on the Prometheus Records release culled from the original master tape.
		Bite the Bullet goes from populist to experimental with no obvious sense of strain, and hangs together perfectly well.
		The Mexican source music and march suite, which round out this CD in arrangements by Hershy Kay, are given snappy renditions by North, who conducts with authority throughout.

		Lusty, high-spirited and full of the pleasures of the American Western, Bite the Bullet is easily the best of Richard Brooks' later films, and a standout Western of the post- The Wild Bunch era.
		This still may not be the 'real' West, but even in its glorification, Bite the Bullet abandons the usual Western movie vendettas and shootouts in favor of details and events that are far more credible than fast guns or moral mythmaking.
		It wasn't mentioned by name, but it's easy to see that horsefalls here and there in Bite the Bullet were accomplished with a 'running W' snare, the kind of wire rig that pulls a horse straight down and more often than not causes him to do a murderous-looking flip.
