The Icelandic Coast Guard investigated the ice, off Vestfirdir and Nordurland, twice in June, i.e.
On the 2nd was an ice edge of high concentration 75 NM west of Straumnes and scattered ice along the edge extending to 55 NM, westnorthwest of Bjargtangar.
On the 20th had the ice edge drifted towards east and was 49 NM, northwest of Deild and the concentration closest to the edge was 7-9/10.

They found that the ice is the nearest to coast in 34 miles distance to the north - west from Straumnes village and 56 miles to the north - north west from Bjargtangar.
