If you don't laugh at Black Books, then you haven't got a sense of humour.
I always worshipped the ground that Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan walked on for Father Ted and Ted and Ralph, but now Dylan Moran is added to my list (Bill Baily and Tamsin Grieg to, even though they didn't write it).

Black Books is a British sitcom, broadcast on Channel 4 and written by Dylan Moran, Graham Linehan, Arthur Mathews, Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley.
He is frequently found in the same fl suit (later shown to actually be a very dirty white suit) and his idea of a stylish haircut is to get someone to slice off clumps of his (crazy, wildly overgrown) hair with a breadknife.
Black Books is considered by the makers to be a sister-show of fellow Channel 4 sitcom Spaced, as numerous comic actors have appeared on both shows — guest stars from Spaced have included Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jessica Stevenson and Peter Serafinowicz, while Bill Bailey had a recurring part in Spaced.

For comic book readers who have always seen some characters of colors in their reading, and for comic fans from the Silver and Bronze ages of comics, the answers are going to be totally different.
The problem begins with the nonsensical classification that is the “fl book”, presumably meant to signify a title in which either “fl things” are more likely to occur, or one that chronicles the exploits of a number of fl characters.
Most of the time when a Black character (The Falcon, Storm, Green Lantern, Agent J, Captain Marvel, Cyborg, Pete on Smallsville, etc.) emerges in the world of mainstream comic books he or she are simply a watered down side kick or a modern day slave to the White characters in the comic book.

The Basil Fawlty of bookshops, Bernard Black demonstrates how now to run a bookshop, with the help of employee Manny and friend Fran from the shop next door.
Rumour has it that there are no plans for a Series 4 (Source: BBC Radio 2 interview with Dylan Moran March 2004), but there are murmurings of a Black Books stage show.
