Black Celebration is the Depeche Mode album that has the most songs with Martin Gore on lead vocals: "A Question of Lust", "Sometimes", "It Doesn't Matter Two", and "World Full of Nothing".
The voice at the beginning of "Black Celebration" is Daniel Miller (impersonating Winston Churchill) saying "A Brief Period of Rejoicing".

"Black Day" is an acoustic version of "Black Celebration" sung by Martin Gore, and is co-written by him, Alan Wilder, and Daniel Miller.
A 1998 cover version of "Stripped" was recorded by the German band Rammstein, and released as a single, as well as on the For the Masses compilation and some versions of Sehnsucht.

In the beginning of 'Fly On The Windscreen' (the version on 'Black Celebration'), there is a sample of someone talking.
'Black Celebration' was no different in this respect and it signaled the end of a co-production relationship with Dan Miller (although I should add, not a falling out).
After 'Black Celebration', Depeche Mode seemed to tone down the metal-bashing and use of metallic-noises.

Black Celebration is one of the finest Depeche Mode albums ever to have been released (Second only to Violator in my opinion).
After listening to the entire album and having it end with this song, you can't help but fall into a state of melancholy (or "depressed mode" as it were), which is fine if that's where you want to go.

The album cover perfectly portrays what the mood of the album is like; the hazy sunset portrays the bleak minor tracks and the bullhorns seem to portray the extremely experimental, and downright sonic bite of the music.
although fl celebration and some great reward are my favorite depeche mode albums, music for the masses is the most special dm album for me. when i heard "strangelove" for the first time, i got goosebumps.
'fl celebration' (still) sounds detached and cold, sometimes robotic and harsh (it may be the songs, however).

Many people hail Violator as DM's best album, i say that before their complete world domination, it was Black Celebration that in a way climaxed with Violator.

Black Celebration is a great record, but I would have to go with Violator.
Black Celebration is nearly perfect but loses major points from me for "New Dress." I think the title track and Stripped are equally best on that album.
I'm not a huge live albums fan but this one just really does it for me, and great renditions of their songs.

Martin Gore takes lead vocals on several tracks, the most he's ever sung on an album- single A Question of Lust is one of their finest moments; while Sometimes is a minimal track, a more oblique approach at the territory covered in 1984's classic Somebody.
New Dress concludes the album in a dark dissection of celebrity culture as reported by the tabloids, juxtaposed with an entropic list of woes across the world (though Gore does get across the validity of voting to a People are People-styled section towards the end!).
Black Celebration is an album that I've listened to since it's release in 1986, and along with Violator it is my favourite album of theirs.
