In response to the population growth of the Village of Arlington Heights, the district expanded its physical plant by building 14 schools in the 1950-60 period, which accommodated the then maximum enrollment of 10,036 in 1969.
Since its peak enrollment of 10,036 students in1969, the district experienced a significant decline in student population through the fall of 1986 when the enrollment reached a low of 3,711 students.

Black Hill is a hill in the Peak District, England lying on the border between the boroughs of Kirklees in West Yorkshire and High Peak in Derbyshire, reaching 582 metres above sea level.
However, Black Hill is crossed by the Pennine Way whose paved surface allows walkers to reach the top dry-shod even in the wettest of weather.
The hill can be visited by a number of routes, including along the Pennine Way from Crowden via the Laddow Rocks cliffs; bogs permitting, a return can be made over Westend Moss (the pre-1966 route of the Pennine Way) to create a pleasant circular walk.

While fur trade was at its peak, the Black Hills were explored to some extent by adventuresome trappers, but because the hills were considered sacred by the Lakota, most trappers avoided the area.
Pressure to move into the Hills was temporarily halted in 1868 when the land west of the Missouri was granted to the Lakota in an effort to bring about a lasting peace with the tribes of the plains.
American Indian raids and constant pressure from the citizens of Yankton caused General Phillip Sheridan to propose an expedition to investigate the possibility of establishing a fort in the Black Hills.

Boundary Peak is at the Northern end of the White Mountains and would not be climbed much except for the fact it is the highest point in Nevada, although it is not the highest peak in the area.
Boundary Peak derives its name from the proximity to the boundary between the two states that runs down the saddle between the two peaks and was likely named by surveyors who were working in the West in the mid 1800s.
Most people who climb this peak are doing so trying to gain another in their quest to gain the high point in as many states as possible.
