		The Black Mountains (Welsh: Y Mynyddoedd Duon) are a group of hills in south-eastern Wales, and a small part of Herefordshire, England.
		The highest mountain in the group is Waun Fach (811 m); other Marilyns include the Sugar Loaf, Ysgyryd Fawr, Mynydd Troed, Graig Syfyrddin, Allt yr Esgair, Myarth, Mynydd Llangorse, Bryn Arw, and Black Mountain.

		The widespread flooding particularly at Northampton and Banbury was caused by prolonged rainfall.
		However in Wales, with the exception of the Rivers Wye and Severn, long records (in excess of 50 years) of annual maxima river flows are limited and, in the case of small catchments, non-existent.
		Such events in recent times include the tidal inundation at Towyn in North Wales in 1990, the widespread flooding in Mid and South Wales in 1979 when thousands of properties were flooded, and in Carmarthen in 1987 when the Tywi overtopped the flood defences.

		I would guess that the trails are a walk in the park of more serious mountain bike riders...
		As mentioned in the previous posting I made a trip out to Wales on Monday to go for a bike ride, my destination was The Black Mountains (Y Mynyddoedd Duon in Welsh).
		I was hoping to also have another ride on a section of the Taff Trail that runs along the east side of the Talybont Reservior but didn't have the heart for it after cleaning all the mud off myself and my bike so we could get back in the car.
