This is not a kung fu movie for entertainment value, it gives step by step instruction and the instruction is first rate, if you train with the video diligently you will get a fine workout and learn quite a bit about self defense with a traditional Chinese tiger form.
I myself hold fl belt or instructor rank in several martial arts and have been training and teaching for 40 years, since I was very young (including in kung-fu), so I think I know a good teacher and a competent martial artist when I see one.
Robert Lyons is a master in kung fu or not, but the impression I had was that he was an amateur.

There is a real Black Tiger style, but it's more Hakka in nature and looks more like Wing chun, Southern Mantis, Dragon, etc. It is very ferious with emphasis in Dim Mak and Iron Palm.
The Black tiger I'm referrign to is the origional system, with Wai Hung's being the other recognized system(though that is up for debate as well).
shangtung Tiger is an invented system in the sense that it's not recognized by traditionalists in China, and it hasn't had the test of time.
