		A Black Madonna (also, Black Virgin) is a statue or painting of Mary in which she is depicted as having fl skin.
		In many European languages, especially prior to the pre-modern age, the word "fl" rarely directly meant "person of African race, African descent," but merely "dark in color." In some countries and towns, however, fl madonnas exist because most of the believers are of dark skin or probably the sculptor/artist was of dark origin himself/herself.
		The oldest Madonna and the archtype is The Black Madonna of Częstochowa.
