Black Wheatear has been excluded due to its large-headed appearance, slightly bulkier size and longer bill and tarsus (Wallace, 1983); this species also has p5-p8 emarginated (like Eastern Pied Wheatear) (Cramp, 1988) and has less white on the rump.

Black-eared Wheatear - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Black-eared Wheatear (Oenanthe hispanica) is a wheatear, a small migratory passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the Thrush family Turdidae, but is now more generally considered to be an Old World flycatcher, Muscicapidae.
The male of the eastern form is even whiter in summer than the western bird, but as a rule may be distinguished by the line which extends across the base of the bill.
Black-throated individuals of this race have a greater amount of fl on the throat and face than on the western birds, and the fl generally terminates more abruptly or in a straighter line.

We thought Black Wheatear should have a fl bar like a Northern Wheatear Oenanthe oenanthe but not having had time to check any books before we set out we were not absolutely certain about this.
The wheatear seemed quite tame and clearly favoured a rusty car chassis in the salubrious surroundings of a rubbish-filled pit.
When we turned to the wheatear plates we received a nasty shock for in both the Hamlyn and Collins field guides there was a broad fl bar on the tail tip.

My first thought is a female Black-eared Wheatear but your sketch maybe shows a bit too much fl on the tail tip.
I thought perhaps I might have gotten some features wrong...And 5 days later at exactly the same place we had this Black-eared Wheatear and I thought that is probably the same bird,as it was at the same site and had the same warm pale ochre brown ground coloration.
I think it was a wheatear what I observed at the 12.3.04; but my problem is : Whas this the same bird I observed for a longer time 5 days later (indicating I made an error concerning the tail pattern at the 12th).
