Introduction to Black Lung Disease   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-28)
Black lung is a legal term describing man-made, occupational lung diseases that are contracted by prolonged breathing of coal mine dust.
While fl "spittle" and fl pigmentation of lungs were observed in European coal miners during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, it was not until 1831 that the term fl lung was used for the first time to describe the lungs of a Scottish coal miner.
Under that injunction, fl lung claims filed after January 19, 2001 (the effective date of the new rules) would be processed up to a point—but no decisions would be made on either the miner's or survivor's claims until the coal industry lawsuit was resolved, delaying processing for many months.

 Black Lung Disease | AHealthyMe.com
Black lung disease is the common name for coal workers' pneumoconiosis (CWP) or anthracosis, a lung disease of older workers in the coal industry, caused by inhalation, over many years, of small amounts of coal dust.
The risk of having fl lung disease is directly related to the amount of dust inhaled over the years; the disease typically affects workers over age 50.
Black lung disease can be diagnosed by checking a patient's history for exposure to coal dust, followed by a chest x-ray to discover if the characteristic spots in the lungs caused by coal dust are present.

bdeath   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-28)
Black lung, or coal workers' pneumoconiosis, is a fatal lung disease caused by inhaling coal dust; it is a common disability in the Appalachian coal mines and a constant threat to those families whose loved ones are employed to enter the shafts and to dig coal from the dangerous realms never before unearthed.
Most doctors, however, continued to argue that fl lung was not a health issue caused by normal mining conditions; it developed only when miners failed to adhere to specified safety standards when blasting coal.
Black lung has ended the lives of hundreds of thousands of miners; it has torn fathers from their wives and children, sons from their mothers, and has ripped the hearts and souls from the victims' family and friends.

Big Black is a one-man band; Albini wrote the songs, sang/shouted the vocals, and played all the instruments (guitar, bass and a little organ), save a few yells and atonal sax blasts contributed by friends.
Albini hopes to make live Big Black music around Chicago by spring, if he can find other musicians who like the sound and if he sells enough records to recoup his tuition money.
Ironically, Albini believes that the people who are buying his record and dancing to it in local clubs (where Big Black is beginning to catch on) are, alas, among the many kinds of human beings that piss him off--fashion-conscious trendy groupies.

Steve Albini, formerly of Big Black did a truly masterful job on the production of this album, instead of trying to make them sound as dense as possible he made them sound as loud, and heavy, and pounding as possible.
Blessed Black Wings is a tough act to follow, sadly “Anointing of Seer is not really up to the challenge, the song starts with a grinding riff and just keeps grinding it into your head while weaving you tales of Damsels in distress, and more cheesy things like that.
To me Blessed Black Wings is the best thing High on Fire have released so far, its defiantly a good pick up of your into sludge metal, or are looking to get into sludge metal or just like music that’s really, really heavy.
