Secondly, although the Black-necked Stork does occur in India and South East Asia it is considered as an 'indigenous' species in Australia.
Firstly, the Jabiru (Ephippiorhyncus Mycteria) occurs from Southern Mexico to Northern Argentina, and is a different species to the Black necked stork (E. Asiaticus).
Secondly, the Black necked stork is indigenous to Australia, ie it occurs here naturally and is not an introduced species.
