Blackburn Arena is an Olympic size ice arena in Blackburn, Lancashire and the home of Blackburn Hawks ice hockey club.
The Arena, which opened in 1991, holds 3,200 people and has an ice pad of 60 metres by 30 metres.
The Arena is owned by Peel Holdings after the original owners, Blackburn Council, sold it.

The playing court at UD Arena was named after former Flyer coach Tom Blackburn, and the $4.5 million addition to the Arena was named for former player and coach Don Donoher.
The playing floor is officially known as 'Tom Blackburn Court at the University of Dayton Arena,' but is referred to as 'Blackburn Court.' Blackburn coached the Flyers from 1947 until his death due to cancer in 1964.
One of a generation of great basketball arenas built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the 13,455-seat home of Flyer basketball was the brainchild of university movers Roesch, the Rev. Charles Collins, Brother Elmer Lackner and then-Flyer Director of Athletics Thomas J. Frericks.

You have to hand it to the folks in Blackburn Hamlet, despite the soggy weather on Saturday they came out in droves to participate and watch the annual Fun Fair parade and then stuck around to play games, scoot through an inflatable maze and enjoy a wide variety of local entertainment on the community stage.
It was a far cry from last year when a lot of people escaped to their air conditioned homes after the parade rather than deal with the 32 degree heat and humidity.
Not surprisingly the exhibits and displays inside the arena were a big draw considering the weather.
