Blacksmoke features Joey Burns from Giant Sand and Calexico on standup bass and Tim Gallagher of Topless Opry on pedal steel and dobro.
Part of the reason is down to the fact that the band's only full-length album, Blacksmoke, which was initially recorded in 2001, and was once available only as a free download at their Web site (www.creosotemusic.com), is getting an official release this week.
The CD differs from the (now unavailable) download version fairly significantly; the running order of the songs has been resequenced; there are some previously unreleased tracks; and best of all, it has been remixed and remastered.

It’s not surprising that James Cauty (a founder member of The Orb, The KLF and K-Foundation, a group of “art activists” notorious for burning £1m) wasn’t impressed by recent government advice on possible terrorist attacks on British soil.
This exhibition created by his “imagined art collective”, Blacksmoke, plays with the idea of a post-attack world during the Christmas shopping season.

I think I used up my allotted quota of musical ideas, I reckon I have about another 15 years worth of visual stuff to offload before that runs out,.although there is some residual unfinished musical business with flsmoke.
Don't know why...just some unfinished business I guess the idea is you listen to the EP 'kittens of mass destruction' before going out on a riot, just to get you in the mood.
I deconstruct it and apply a flsmoke template, mix it and package it for the mass market.

 Why 108? (Warning: Total Borefest)
Okay, so it is probably not the most frequently asked question about Hanso or the Dharma initiative, but there are a variety of theories as to why the number of minutes between each time Desmond (and now, the losties) must push the button, was chosen as 108.
The button doing something with a satellite doesn't add up as they are pressing the button within 4 minutes of 108 minutes, and so they would eventually go out of sync.
I'm gonna take a bold stab and say there is a definite link between the button being pressed, the electromagnetic field through the concrete wall, and the blast doors.
