The weapon may have a cross guard or hand guard, but the guard must be made entirely of pipe foam or the equivalent.
We prefer to use weapons with a diameter of around 2", but we allow a wedge to be removed from the pipe foam to be so long as the diameter of the weapon is no less than 1 and 3/4".
It is suggested that two handed weapons, particularly staves, cover the grip area or at least most of the grip area with a thin walled pipe insulation to protect against accidental contact with the grip.

Two weapon sword acts like two long swords in terms of damage, but the second sword is treated as small for purposes of calculating your two handed combat penalty.
The kicker is: you can't use a shield and the weapon isn't finessable.
The advantage is that for a dual-bladed weapon, the offhand side is considered light, even though its damage is the same as a medium wepaon (for the 2-bladed sword, the offhand is treated light, but deals the same damage as a longsword, so it's similar to the effect od dual-wielding longswords).

The gangya (guard) of a kris blade is made in such a manner that their lines flow very elegantly into the blade, never interrupting in continuity from transition from gangya proper to blade.
It is speculated that these kampilans are perhaps early attempts at creating tourist blades, as the intricate engraving would not be typically be visible as status markers, as it would be a severe cultural faux paux to bare an un-sheathed blade in court, or generally in a non-war related situation.
What is clear though, gunong blades, while often resembling kris, lack many features normally associated with the kris blade, such as the presence of a gangya, and in the case of the single edged blades the tapering blade profile intrinsic to the kris form.

Since you have several tines to hit with, it should be easy to hit a small target (as the arm) with at least one without precision aiming, and a large target (such as the chest) will be hit with several tines, shortening the time to hypovolemic shock.
Whether hammers and axes were originally weapons or tools is, I suppose, a question for archeologists, but their ubiquity on farms is undisputed.
Notably, the ability of the pitchfork to catch a weapon between the tines also allows it to be easily caught.

Double-bladed lightsaber - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki - A Wikia wiki
Even the Jedi Knights, and some Jedi Masters, used the weapon during those dark times, but the Jedi Council traditionally frowned on use of the blade, believing a traditional lightsaber was enough, and considering the double-bladed lightsaber little more than a weapon designed to kill more effectively, while the Jedi developed the lightsaber to defend.
Another drawback was that the attack and parrying of the double-bladed lightsaber was limited by the fact that unlike a normal lightsaber, one could not simply readjust their posture as the saberstaff required them to hold it either horizonally or diagonally while fighting.
Modified to emit two blades, it was more than twice as long a the standard lightsaber, and is almost inevitability a target when dueling another lightsaber-wielding foe.

Often depicted as a straight bladed weapon with a square guard, the ninja sword (or "ninja-to") is an area of historical controversy.
Today's historically-accurate ninjutsu arts seem to promote both katana-length and wakizashi-length blades which, by default, were the primary sword of the Samurai; being shorter, they were more apt for indoor fighting and thus were the sword the Samurai had beside him when eating, sleeping, or bathing.
It would seem whatever weapon was acquired or required at the time of fighting was the ninja's weapon - be it a polearm, a staff, a katana, a wakizashi, a tanto, or his own person.
