James L. Busey / The Georgists of Spain
This is because leaders of andalucismo, starting with Blas Infante in the early years of this century, and numerous others are named in this book, were both andalucistas and georgistas -- or, fisiocratas georgistas as they often call themselves.
And Blas Infante became leader of the movement for Andalusian autonomy.
The fascists controlled all of Spain from 1939 to 1975, when the death of Franco introduced the constitutional monarchy of the remarkably perceptive King Juan Carlos, and the new democracy opened modern Spain to freedom of press and expression and thus new Georgist activity.

Infante was a man closely connected to the fight for Andalusian autonomy.
In 1983 the Andalusian Parliament unanimously approved the Preamble of the Statute of Andalusian Autonomy, which recognises Blas Infante "as the father of the Andalusian land and illustrious precursor of the fight to obtain the Statute of Andalusian Autonomy".

Pasión singular, Una (2003)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
This heavy political film about a page in the Andalucia of the be first three decades of the 20th Century prior to the Spanish Civil War, is charged with facts and figures that are difficult to follow for the casual viewer not from Spain.
The best thing in the movie is the performance of Daniel Freire, who portrays Blas Infante, a man with the singular passion that thought about an agrarian reform where the poor people of Andalucia would have benefited, had it gone into effect.
Of course, since Blas came from a well to do family, it was hard to imagine someone in his shoes rooting for the poor and the destitute of that poor land.

Historical Flags (Andalusia, Spain)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
And probably the memory of green and white flags, often with a rebellious meaning, had something to do with that fact.
Blas Infante, the founder of the Andalusian nationalism, wrote that the idea of the Andalusian flag was suggested by a demonstration of protest by the women of Casares (Málaga province), his home town, bearing a horizontally divided green and white flag, and precisely Casares is located in an area of strong Morisco tradition.
But it is in the second half of the 19th Century when the idea of Andalusia as a region with its own identity and the aspiration to self-government are explicitly claimed, in the framework of federalist-minded movements and the rise of regionalisms and nationalisms all over Spain.

The collection also includes original land grants and research supporting their authenticity, letters that document events of the day, a genealogical accounting of the Garza Falcon family tree and 18th century surveys of areas in what is now northern Mexico and South Texas.
Instead of relying on missions to convert natives to Christianity and manning its presidios with armies, the Garza Falcon brothers decided that a more efficient way to populate as area would be to rely on bringing families to the region.
