Bayley originally was part of a small band called Wolfsbane.

I've been a Blaze Bayley fan even throughout Maiden's "dark years" (it wasn't his fault - Steve Harris refused to d-tune his instruments and write in favor of Blaze’s range).
Blaze was blamed for Maiden’s musical decline throughout his years in the band by people who "forgot" Maiden really lost their edge when Adrian Smith left (but that is another different topic - maybe one of these days I'll write an article about it).
But the past is all over now and, after one listen to "Silicon Messiah," everything I've been saying in defense of Blaze all these years has finally been proven: Give the man heavy-as-shit guitars, let him write from his heart, and watch the harvest grow.

Blaze's interpretation of Led Zeppelin's "Dazed And Confused" would probably upset your average Led Head.
While Bayley often received criticism as Iron Maiden's front man, it certainly was more in the form of angry Maiden fans that wanted only Bruce Dickinson out front.
Bayley as a lead singer in a live setting possesses a strong, projecting voice and an imposing stage presence.

Until a couple of years ago, the career of Blaze Bayley had been a case of "should have been".
Bayley's subsequent move to Iron Maiden should have been a great career move, but it was not, as Maiden was somewhat in decline at the time and much of the blame was quite unfairly placed on the vocalist.
A quite enjoyable no-nonsense metal band, Blaze appears to be the vehicle that Bayley has needed for a successful career.

Given everything that has happened to Blaze Bayley in recent years the most surprising thing about this, the band's third studio album, is the fact that it has actually been recorded and released.
In recent interviews Blaze has talked about the many personal problems he has been through including his addictions to alcohol, his depression and even thoughts of suicide.
Although at times the song seems to plod you can here the anger in Bayley's voice as he spits out the fact that he is indeed still 'Alive'.

The problem with Bayley in Maiden was that they toned down his wild man persona, the element which made Blaze what he was in Wolfsbane, an untamable nut.
Blaze is putting his heart into it, a real tragedy at work.
The intentions were right, a tribute to the Falkland War victims of 1982, one of whom Blaze went to school with I remember him saying (wait a minute...wasn't Blaze born in 1969 or something).

To his credit, Blaze did his damndest, but some shoes are just too big for ANYONE to fill, and he just didn't go over too well with the Maiden fans.
The rest of the songs are Blaze originals, including "The Brave", "Stranger To The Light" (a slower number with some Sabbath influence), "Identity", "Ghost In The Machine", "Born As A Stranger", and "Tenth Dimension", and that wraps it up.

Blaze mentioned that the first demo recordings of a band usually had some energy that is sometimes not present in the later recordings, and that the band really wanted to capture that aspect of it.
Blaze right away dismissed all rumours that he and the band will be parting ways soon by stating they are all "rubbish!" He clearly enjoys working with the band and apparently he told Steve Harris (Iron Maiden's bassist) after performing live with them that "you won't get me out of the band"!
Blaze's enthusiasm for working with the band is evident when you talk to him and I think he sincerely respects the people he plays with.

Born as a Stranger: This was the first Blaze song I heard and became a favorite of mine from their catalog and still is. A catchy chorus and some audience interaction that is fun to listen too.
Blaze's energy is high on all tracks, creating a great live feel, even if the fans aren't always loud; this brings me to my one criticism: not enough (or loud enough?) fan screaming and sing-along to help flesh out the live presence.

Bayley expresses the need for this release in the US, "Some people know of my work singing with Iron Maiden, but most are not aware of my work in my current band, so the live album is a way of introducing people to what we've been up to.
Bayley had previously performed in North America with cult heroes Wolfsbane (once with Overkill, and once opening for Guns N' Roses on GNR's warm-up gig in LA for the Rolling Stones tour!) and of course in support of the 2 albums he recorded with the legendary Iron Maiden.
BLAZE is now headed back to Europe to continue work on a new studio effort, anticipated for a full worldwide release over the summer, and hopefully, come back to America to embark on a proper tour.

Former Wolfsbane and Iron Maiden frontman Blaze Bayley returns with his latest outing 'Blood and Belief' I don't know if you have been paying much attention to what Blaze has been doing since his departure from the mighty Maiden, but it has been quite impressive.
Blaze's vocal style definitely wasn't Dickinson's in Maiden and that is where a few of the problems lie with that material.
Bayley has rounded it out nicely and provides a pretty decent listen.

In this text, I want to pay tribute to Blaze Bayley who is a great singer and a really cool guy.
When we read an interview of Blaze (but this is the same thing for all of the members of Iron Maiden ;-), we can notice he is very intelligent and cool.
On videos, for example " The Angel and the Gambler ", Blaze is excellent : his show on stage is very good (he is the king of air drummer ;-), and in the " cyberworld " he is quite funny :-) with is cowboy hat !

Despite Bayley’s best efforts, the five years he was with Maiden was five of their worst.
Those wondering if Bayley’s chops can carry a two CD live set need only to pop in the first disc and crank it up to be convinced.
While Bayley is no Robert Plant, the band puts enough of a spin on it to make it their own, and the tuned-down, distorted rendition does the classic justice.

Blaze Bayley continues his metal legacy after leaving Iron Maiden with this live release and third Blaze (the band) album overall.
I personally think Blaze gets bashed far too much from some Maiden fans regarding his stint with the band and the albums can't be that bad, especially if Iron Maiden still plays songs off the releases in concert.
Live, Blaze never misses a vocal note and every member of his band is equally as strong.
