		Bleed Like Me is the fourth studio album by rock band Garbage, first released on April 11, 2005 internationally and a day later in North America.
		However, momentum was lost quickly for Bleed Like Me. The lack of a successful second single anywhere hindered the album's chart run, although a remix of the title track did well in the US on the Hot Dance/Club Airplay charts.
		"Bleed Like Me" was released on Tuesday, 3 May to US radio.

		Shirley's lyrics are bitter and filled with confusion, ("I'm standing in the shadows with the words stuck in my throat..") and deliver a quirky twist towards the end of the song, when it transpires that the subject may not actually love her that much after all, ("I think you're sleeping with a friend of mine.").
		She empathises with a number of troubled characters ("He's trying to figure out if he's a girl, or he's a boy.."), and as the chorus arrives, the quiet strumming of the guitars is replaced by an up-tempo musical outburst of bugles and drums.
		As with Bleed Like Me, the chorus is a sudden crescendo of sound, which eventually leads to a mesmerising closing riff that spans over 2 minutes, without the listener wanting it to end.

		Bleed Like Me had a lot riding on it, and I had some doubts going into my first listen but did so out of faith in the band.
		Bleed Like Me is a straight-forward album that is on the whole tamer and more “mature” (which actually translates as less dynamic and more boring).
		Once again I like the fact that it changes things up for a moment but unlike Bleed Like Me it doesn’t stay with me. It sounds nice at the time but fades into nothing the moment it finishes.

		Bleed Like Me seems even more of a turning point for Garbage given that the quartet was more or less disbanded/on extended hiatus prior to the recording of the 11 new tracks included here.
		The band continues to retread familiar ground on songs like the crunching "Metal Heart," the muted treatment on Manson's voice lending an overwhelming sense of déjà vu to the proceedings.
