The Trinity & The Nature of God
Forrest goes on to say there were a number of comments made during the third and fourth centuries which indicated an aversion to the divinity of Christ.
They insist that John did not say that God was one God and the Word was "another God." There is a difference, they say, between the claim that the Word was divine and the claim that He was God.
Therefore, when John wrote that the Word became flesh, he meant the transition was that of an impersonal personification becoming embodied in a human being, not a divine person becoming a human person.

But as the Blessed Virgin Mary was on earth with her Divine Son during the entirety of His earthly ministry, it would have made very little sense for Him to ask others to pray to her while she was on earth.

Propititation: The Very Heart of the Gospel
John 3:16 teaches that Christ bore the sins of all that would believe (that is, that Christ is the "Propitiation" of all that would believe) It is important to note that believing in Christ is a "Gift of God" Eph.
In 1 John 2:2 it states that [Christ] is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” He meant: all without distinction, not all without exception, in other words, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.--- [cf.
That “the world” in 1 John 2:2 refers to the world of believers, (i.e., God gave his Son to bore the sins for all those who would believe), in contradistinction from “the world of the ungodly” in 2 Peter 2:5), is unequivocally established.
