 NFL Blitz 20-02 - GameCritics.com
When I played my first game of Blitz, it was quick, intense, and exciting; in fact, I wound up coming from behind by completing a long pass for a touchdown with no time left.
Blitz has no penalties, so pass interference is encouraged; defensive players can tackle receivers before they catch the ball, which adds a new twist to the passing game.
Obviously, the game only needs so much realism since there are so many far-fetched changes to the rules of football, but I always thought that the earlier music fit the action better and got players ready for football.

This does not mean that Blitz on the PSX suffers from inadequate visuals, however; on the whole the graphics are pretty decent and some of the animations are downright wonderful.
The 2 player portion of the game is a bit better in that regard, giving you the chance to talk some serious smack to your opponent as the little polygonal figures fly across the screen in exaggerated reckless abandon.
NFL Blitz definitely has something to offer gamers that want to play a quick game of football but don't want to take the time to learn the intricacies of the actual sport, or simply don't wish to be bogged down by complicated controls.

NFL Blitz was created to capitalize on this desire for pain, with an over the top focus on crushing your opponents, and quickly became a fan hit.
Unlike previous games of Blitz, which came across like a pickup game of football with NFL players in stadiums, Blitz Pro focuses on a more realistic, simulation style 11-on-11 game of pigskin.
