Blohm & Voss BV 141 - Definition, explanation
The Blohm + Voss; BV 141 is a World War II German tactical reconnaissance aircraft prototype.
The perspex glazed crew gondola on the starboard side housed the pilot, observer and rear-gunner, while the fuselage on the port side led smoothly from the 1000hp Bramo 123 engine to a tail unit (which was symmetrical in the Bv 141 V1 prototype).
By the time that a batch of five Bv 141Bs were built with the more powerful BMW 801 engines they were too late to make an impression, and the authorities proceeded instead to order production of the Fw 189.

I've always been fascinated with Richard Vogt's BV 141 and picked up the HiPM kit when it came out several years ago.
My friend Las Kamback, who is probably the world's top authority on the BV 141 reported that both NC+QZ and NC+RE were both painted with yellow theater bands in 1942 (see photo below).

FlightSim.Com Review: Blohm und Voss BV 141B-05
After two more prototypes and sufficiently successful initial trials the RLM ordered five Blohm und Voss BV 141A-0 (Hamburger Flugzeugbau was bought by Blohm und Voss shipyards).
Five pre-production BV 141B-0 aircraft were then built with the BMW 801 radial engine (same as the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter) and extensive redesign.
The BV 141 doesn't have its own sounds but is aliased to the default Corsair sound.

 Blohm & Voss BV-141
Blohm and Voss company of Hamburg, Germany was, and still is, a shipbuilder, (but I gather they've stopped building U-boats).
Still, Blohm und Voss had so much confidence in it that they produced a prototype at their own risk.
This was followed up by two more prototypes and finally ten production models, but the unconventional appearance of the plane was too much for the Nazis.

Blohm & Voss Bv-141, Chronicles of the Arixo Air Defense Force
Although the firm is best known for building Germany's World War II flying boats, Blohm and Voss is most notorious for its profoundly eccentric Bv-141.
There were scowls and snickering and suggestions that Blohm and Voss stick to flying boats.
Blohm and Voss was, however, sufficiently impressed with the Bv-141, that they actually undertook to build it at their own expense.

Blohm und Voss submitted the Bv 141, which is a hard design to describe, so see the picture above.
The Luftwaffe officials disregarded the Bv 141 as a mutant and turned it down even though it was faster and had a better range than the Fw 189.
The Bv 141 was just too ambitious for it's time and would have performed well if it had been put into production.

Le FW 189 bénéficia de la lenteur de construction de Blohm und Voss et le projet fut abandonné en 1943 avec seulement 13 exemplaires construits.

The first aircraft to use an asymmetric layout was a German reconnaissance aircraft, the Blohm und Voss Bv 141, which first flew in 1938.
Several variations were made on the design, but all types had the tail-fin, mounted on a boom, offset to the port side of the central axis and the nacelle offset to the starboard side.
Blohm und Voss also experimented with asymmetric designs in their subsequent jet aircraft.

This and the desire to ensure the production of the Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor (which took place on 80% of the assembly shop space at Blohm und Voss after a bombing raid on the Focke-Wulf plant) made the RLM choose the reliable Focke-Wulf Fw 189.

I decided to build the model out of the box since my references are very limited when it comes to esoteric subjects such as Bv 141.
In the process of gathering information I learned that a "glasshouse" cockpit of Bv-141 had a lot in common with Fw-189, therefore I used an excellent book published by Aviapress in their series "Skrzydla w Miniaturze" (Wings in Miniature) as a guide for Blohm und Voss cockpit.

One of the other improvments in this war was the use of bombs designed similar to airplanes that will attack cites from far away without being detected the name of this bomb is V1 vliegende bomb.
It is said that if Nazis had had the Blohm V9 and the He162 one year before they will had been able to save their country, this airplanes camed too late to help them.
The allies then saw that this was a new kind of airplane, it was like reinventing it, its power was unlimited, it could fly hounders of kilometers faster than any ally plane.

The characteristically unusual design of Dr. Vogt had a slender fuselage on the left containing the engine and carrying the tail surfaces, while the crew was accommodated in abbreviated nacelle on the right.
The Bv 237 design featured an armoured fuselage nacelle, and would have been flown by the pilot alone in the dive-bomber configuration and by a pilot and a tail gunner in the attack configuration.
The final German effort towards a ground-support aircraft was the little Henschel Hs 132, a jet aircraft of configuration similar to the He 162, with the engine carried on top of a small and streamlined fuselage.
