		This album was recorded originally in 1988 between the Blood, Fire, Death and Hammerheart albums, and the music reflects this time period of Bathory's existence.
		The guitars are still strong and powerful like on "Blood,..." and on "Twilight..." and nice mid-paced fairly simple riffs played although they are more for the background of the songs, the singing being the foreground in most cases.
		Quorthon sings in a mostly clear voice on this album, different from "Blood Fire Death" but also different from the fully clear vocals on "Twilight of the Gods".

		The vocals, similar to Azrael's, are lost somewhere in the sound beneath the wall of raw guitars and surreal, magical sounding synth sections that appear here and there, prolonging and highlighting the depressive vision.

		except that this is two different Bathory "Greatest Hits" with lots of great songs from all of Bathory's periods plus one song from their first demo (1983) on both of them and in total tree unreleased tracks recorded between Blood Fire Death and Hammerheart (Not any of the songs on the Blood on Ice album).
		I think this albums strength is its rawness and great material and the fact that it was one of the first m odern black metal releases.

		With this album, which was partially recorded during the time of "Blood Fire Death" and "Hammerheart", he has laid down another classic Bathory album.
		The booklet of the CD is worth some extra notes: Apart from the stunning artwork from Christian Wåhlin which just screams to be released on LP, the booklet features a massive 32 pages with the entire story of the making of this CD told by Quorthon (in both English and German) and the album lyrics.

		Fire In the Head with Sickness are the current US Power electronic leaders to me. The layers and trones, the tortured vocals and the over all madness of it all is just more then mere words could ever tell you.
		Fire in the Head is surely becoming one of my favorite Noise artists of late and with each release grows in talent and ideas.
		Sorry but 99.9% of Death Metal is flat out shit and bands like Morbid Angel, Nile, Bolt thrower show me it doesn't have to be but where Kaamos misses out is there just emulating what all the other are already doing and in my humble opinion better.
