  The Bloodhound SAGW system
Like the faithful creature after which it is named, the Bloodhound SAM (Surface to Air Missile) stands prepared to track down any intruder encroaching upon its territory.
Bloodhound 1 was used to protect the V-bomber bases and was usually installed nearby.
Bloodhound was also stationed abroad, and in 1970 (after the Royal Navy had assumed the strategic deterrent role) all systems within the UK were withdrawn and either stored or transferred to RAF Germany, where No 25 Squadron had moved for aerodrome defence.

 Bloodhound Sam
The Bristol Bloodhound, a British surface-to-air missile, was developed during the 1950s as the UK's main air defence weapon and was in large-scale service with the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the forces of four other countries from 1958.
Deployment of the Bloodhound Mk I began in 1958 at the culmination of a development process begun a decade earlier by the Bristol Aeroplane Company and Ferranti Ltd (both now part of BAE Systems) — the latter providing the radar guidance and control.
Bloodhound was also stationed abroad, and in 1970 (after the Royal Navy 's Polaris submarines had assumed the strategic deterrent role) all systems within the UK were withdrawn and either stored or transferred to RAF Germany for airfield defence.

Sam straddled him and made sure he was eyelashes tickling against his jaw and breath on his throat while he tried to find the manual dexterity to get that belt off.
Sam yanked his belt off and tossed it over one shoulder before leaning in closer to press his mouth to the spot that joined neck to shoulder, sharing the shiver it produced when Dean reciprocated with a smile Sam could feel against his skin.
Sam had time to realize it was nothing like the spasm he was used to that started in his lower spine and came tearing outward; this was like a rollercoaster, the moment you hovered at the top of a steep incline, the wait just before gravity reminded you where you really belonged.

The Mk I's pulsed Type 83 radar was replaced with a continuous wave Type 86 or Type 87 radar, both of which were less susceptible to jamming.
A missile that is very similar in appearance, the Thunderbird, was produced for and operated by the British Army anti-aircraft artillery units to provide a more mobile defence system.

From King of Prussia, PA, the Bloodhound Gang hit the alternative charts in 1996 with a blend of obnoxious sexual innuendo and apolitically correct stoner wit reminiscent of the early Beastie Boys — mixing punk rock with hip-hop much as the Beasties had done.
The Bloodhound Gang released the album in mid-1996 on the tiny Republic label, but moved back to a major label (DGC) later that year, thanks to MTV and alternative-radio airplay of the single "Fire Water Burn." The oft-delayed Hooray for Boobies followed in early 2000.
