		Bloody Kisses is the third album by Brooklyn band Type O Negative.
		It marked significant stylistic growth for the band in terms of songwriting and production values, and it is also the last recording to feature Sal Abruscato on drums.
		The most successful single from "Bloody Kisses" is the song "Black No. 1", a tribute to goth girls everywhere.

		Type O Negative have done just that on their 3rd album, BLOODY KISSES, but I'm not sure if what they have is nerve or just a penchant for honest advertising.
		BLOODY KISSES then, is a career peak for them, a brilliant marriage of musical perversity, sex and serious camp that's played as much for laughs as it is for lucre.
		COMMENTS: the metamorphosis.............a very close description of the industrial goth gone romantic goth band known as Type O Negative bloody kisses is the first album made by type o that integrates its romanticgoth sounds putting the mystically dark woman on a pedastal yet somehow shunning her for leaving.

		Feel free to discuss the merits of this album (which I think is excellent, by the way), but that's not what this topic is about.
		Granted, the LE copy has more provactive cover art (the two girls are actually kissing), a great extra song, Suspended in Dusk, and longer remixes of the two best songs on the album, Christian Woman and Black No. 1.
		However, the LE copy comes in a cardboard jewelcase (strike number 1), but worst of all, the songs are completely reordered, destroying the timeline of the original.

		Either way BLOODY KISSES is one of the most alluringly weird albums in the history of the genre--an hour-long ode to break-ups and suicide that mixes acoustic guitars and synthesizers with metallic power chords, and lush choral harmonies with a lead vocalist who sounds like he died sometime before the recording process began.
		That last bit is meant as a compliment; if you're going to attempt an eleven-minute suicide dirge like the title track, you better be either Leonard Cohen or dead, and Type O's Peter Steele has a bit of both in him.
		For most of BLOODY KISSES, though, Steele and crew come alive as pop studio experimentalists in a field dominated by anti-pop, anti-studio shredders.
