Blow Molding - Blow Molding Services - Injection Blow Molding
Blow molding uses a continuously running extruder to which a tuned die head is attached, forming a parison.
Two types of stretch blow molding are injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) and reheat and blow (RHB) molding, both of which are typically used to manufacture P.E.T bottles for juice, water, etc. In the ISBM process, a preform is injection molded and then transferred to another station on the machine, where it is blown.
A preform, which is similar to the parison, is either injection plastic molded and then transferred to a blow molding machine, or the injection and blow molders are combined.

injection molding a round the inner layer an outer layer of a resin having an intrinsic viscosity that is at least 0.10 less than the intrinsic viscosity of the inner layer, and the outer layer being at least 80% by weight of the total weight of the preform.
Plastic blow molding of containers is conventionally performed either by extrusion of a hot plastic parison or by a plastic preform which is usually injection molded from plastic.
The mold sections 20 of the blow mold 22 have cavity sections 24 that cooperatively define an enclosed cavity 26 upon closing of the mold 22 as shown in FIG.

Blow Molding and Rotational Molding - Offshore Solutions   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Blow molding is accomplished in two steps: (1) fabrication of a starting tube of molten plastic, called a parison (same as in glass-blowing); and (2) inflation of the tube to the desired final shape.
Injection blow molding: (1) parison is injection molded around a blowing rod; (2) injection mold is opened and parison is transferred to a blow mold; (3) soft polymer is inflated to conform to a blow mold; and (4) blow mold is opened and blown product is removed.
Molds in rotational molding are simple and inexpensive compared to injection molding or blow molding, but the production cycle is much longer, lasting perhaps ten minutes or more.

The hot material, still on the core pin, is then indexed to the blow molding station where it is blown into a bottle and allowed to cool.
The extrusion blow molding process begins with the conventional extrusion of a parison or tube, using a die similar to that used for making plastic pipe.
A rod-like blow pin is inserted into the neck end of the hot parison to simultaneously form the threaded opening and to inflate the parison inside the mold cavity.

Method for back-to-back blow molding of hollow bodies - Patent 5705121
In blow molding, a parison of plastic material is first extruded between two mold halves or sections, each having a back surface and a front surface, with a segment of the desired mold cavity cut into the surface of each section front surface.
For example, a blow molding apparatus known as a continuous rotary blow molding apparatus is formed by positioning a plurality of outwardly facing mold clamps in a circle on a rotary support wheel, comprised of a pair of spaced vertically positioned disks.
After the molds are closed and locked, air is injected through blow needles 50 and 52 into the interior of parisons P and P', respectively, to expand the parisons to conform to the shape of the mold cavities.
