"Bloxwich is a large and pleasant village, seated on an eminence two and a half miles N by W of Walsall, and comprising within its chapelry the whole township of the Foreign of Walsall, except Walsall Wood church district.
The inhabitants of Bloxwich are chiefly employed in the manufacture of saddlers' ironmongery, and awl blades, for which the village is more celebrated than any other in the kingdom.
Bloxwich formed a chapelry to Walsall parish and was situated in Walsall Foreign Township.

 Bloxwich in history
Bloxwich was included in the grant as part of the 'Foreign of Walsall' and was known as such until 1835.
Throughout the Middle Ages Bloxwich had been a small agricultural village with a population of around 600, but it expanded in the 18th century when coal mines were opened.
Bloxwich had a chapel of ease within the parish of Walsall, granted in the 15th century, but did not become a separate parish until the 19th century.

The Methodist Church began in the 18th Century during what has become known as the Evangelical Revival, largely as a result of the preaching of John Wesley who travelled the length and breadth of the country on horseback, preaching and teaching.
Due to the vision of a number of people at that time all three churches were closed down and the new church built in Victoria Avenue.
Members of the congregation meet not only in fellowship groups to discuss their faith but also to share in a number of social activities.

 UK Train Photos - Bloxwich 26/07/02
As summer was flying past at a rate, two of us decided to spend a day around Birmingham to catch a few of the last loco-hauled cross-country services.
After attaching both sets of empties together, the 37 then hauls the lot back up and over Willenhall Lane crossing and deposits them in the loop formed where the old station platform used to be.
After Bloxwich, we headed south of Birmingham to get some country shots of the last remaining class 47 hauled trains.
