Providence (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The style of the group was decidedly soft rock with dominant classical influences, particularly in contrapuntal instrumental interludes by their string trio and in broad vocal harmonies that followed strict rules of voice-leading.
Their greatest accomplishment came when The Moody Blues, seeking to expand the roster of their fledgling label Threshold Records, signed Providence to a recording contract.
Subsequently, Cockey and the Tompkins brothers lent their talents to the duet album Blue Jays (1975) by the Moodies' Justin Hayward and John Lodge.

The Moody Blues, who owed the label unrecouped advances and recording session fees from their various failed releases, were picked for the proposed project, which was to be a rock version of Dvorák's New World Symphony.
Although all five participated in the resulting album, Octave (1978), there were numerous stresses during its recording, and Pinder was ultimately unhappy enough with the LP to decline to go on tour with the band.

Tony Clarke - Free Music Downloads, Videos, CDs, MP3s, Bio, Merchandise and Links
Tony Clarke was, for much of the late '60s and early '70s, one of the three or four most well-known record producers in England, as familiar a name as George Martin was for his work with the Beatles, and Andrew Oldham and Jimmy Miller, respectively, were for their work with the Rolling Stones.
With the growing complexity of their records from In Search of the Lost Chord onward, for which he was, in large part responsible, the time that Clarke spent on their albums grew exponentially, and by the beginning of 1969, he was working almost exclusively on the band's recordings.
He was responsible to a large degree for the reunion of the band in the late 1970's, although he found working on the resulting Octave album so distressing, that he abandoned work with them on any future projects.

Another concept album, this one is an "ecological"-themed album, but only four of the ten tracks really fit it at all (incidentally, these were the songs that most repulsed me about the album).
The main difference between this album and the previous ones is that they've decided to go a bit lighter on the mellotron than before, primarily because they were finding it unbearably difficult to perform live songs that had originally had 30 layers of sound.
All of their albums had reached the top 5 in either Britain or the USA, and they were able to sellout stadiums with the greatest of ease.

The tone of this song fits well with the rest of the album, and helps to extend the length of the album to better make use of the time available on a CD, recalling that "Blue Jays" was originally recorded on vinyl.
During the Moody Blues temporary breakup in the mid 1970's, the two members most responsible for the group's monumental success from 1967 to 1972 teamed up with long-time producer Tony Clarke, and also reunited with Peter Knight, who teamed up the Moodies on their breakthrough album "Days Of Future Passed" eight years earlier.

Their duo album Blue Jays (1975) was the first product of the hiatus, almost a lost Moody Blues album in content and structure, and it charted well in England and America, as well as fostering a brief UK tour by the two.
The album was moderately well received by the critics, and had a solid rock base, but lacked the melodic invention to sustain interest beyond the ranks of the most hardcore fans.
