Dual boot redhat 9 and xp - Dev Shed   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
His problem has nothing to do with the order of OS installation.
Even if he installed Windows last, it would completely wipe the bootloader; not cause the problem he is describing.
Installing windows XP/2K first is the best method because when you install redhat, GRUB will see the existing windows OS and setup itself up to dual boot redhat and windows.

The main operating system choice that is installed on the hard drive does not affect the USB boot success or failure.
However, it is unlikely that any computer that is old enough that Windows 95 was the preinstalled OS is probably too old for USB booting, even with BIOS upgrades.
However, it is still possible to boot from a USB stick if you use the USB boot floppy disk together with the USB stick.

Does linux usually have a problem with stuff like this?
Also to clarify, when they mean linux is a stable os, it means mainly the kernel, not web browsers, etc. But everything is pretty much stable, as long as you download stable.
Oh well i will just go to the forums and use irc to check for the releases ^^ not that much of a bother.
