Grey Junglefowl, Nilgiri Wood-Pigeon, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Grey Hornbill, White-cheeked Barbet, Malabar Lark, Nilgiri Pipit, Grey-headed Bulbul, Yellow-throated Bulbul, Malabar Whistling-Thrush, White-bellied Shortwing, Broad-tailed Grassbird, Black-and-rufous (-orange) Flycatcher, Nilgiri Flycatcher, White-bellied Blue-Flycatcher, Wynaad Laughingthrush, Rufous-breasted (Nilgiri) Laughingthrush, Grey-breasted Laughingthrush, Rufous Babbler and White-bellied Treepie.
They showed a grey-black head and with the lower part of the grey breast delicately streaked white - we believe this must be the fairbanki ssp.
Blue Rock Thrush 1 M 17/2 of the blue ssp.

I failed to see Painted Bush Quail but had an Indian Blue Robin (another male), a superb Common Flameback drumming on deadwood, Orange-headed Thrush, Indian Scimitar Babbler, a female Nilgiri Flycatcher, Common Rosefinch, a male Tickell's Blue Flycatcher, Crimson-throated and White-cheeked Barbets, Malabar Parakeet and Vernal Hanging Parrot.
There were parties of Blue Peafowl, Grey Junglefowl, a group of twelve Crested Treeswifts in a tree with many more flying around, Golden and Black-hooded Orioles, Brown-capped Pygmy and Yellow-crowned Woodpeckers, Yellow-footed Green Pigeon,White-bellied Drongo, Bay-backed and Brown Shrikes, Jerdon's Bushlark, White-browed Bulbul, Common Woodshrike,Blue-winged Leafbird and Chestnut-shouldered Petronia.
I failed to see Kashmir Flycatcher which is said to winter in the area.

In the afternoon we struggled to see the calling White bellied Woodpecker until Leio eventually relented and let me use my CD player to call it in.
White cheeked and Coppersmith Barbets in hotel garden, White bellied SeaEagle, Hoopoe, 60+ Short toed Larks, Paddyfield Pipit, Pied BushChat.
Excellent scope views of a female Blue capped Rock Thrush and a pair of Malabar Trogons.

Coppersmith Barbet 2, Koel 5, White-browed Bulbul 2, Red-whiskered Bulbul 5, Red-vented Bulbul 1, White-throated Fantail (Flycatcher) 2, White-backed Munia 3 and Ring-necked Parakeet 10.
The white wing patch wasn't obvious on sitting males (though conspicuous in flight) and females lacks it.
White supercilium, "open" (spotted) grey breast-band, white below, long diamond shaped tail with white terminal bar on each side of the "diamond-end".

 Birding in Kerala, India
The bird we saw had white brows as shown in Kazmierczak, not all blue as shown in Grimmett.
Asian Brown Flycatcher is often active and in the open.
Re-visting the site the next day also resulted in an Orange-and-Black Flycatcher.

The breeding/nesting of Rufous bellied shortwing is not authentically reported from Kerala.It is the first authentic breeding record of this forest bird from Kerala.

These impressive purple, red and blue and white beasts came through at alarming speed and they held us transfixed before they had to head off.
This immense building seems to float on its white marble plinth, whilst inside the light filters gently down to softly illuminate the jewel-encrusted tombs of the emperor and his beloved.
Added to this was the superb Great Barbet, omnipresent Black-headed Jay and magnificent Blue Magpies which impressed greatly before we headed for the waterbird phenomenon that is Bharatpur.

 Birdwatching Trip Report from Goa ,India
It starts from besides a two metre high white cross on the left hand side of the road about 400 metres after the turning to the Fort Aguada Resort.
There was not much activity, but amongst the birds we saw were Spot‑breasted fantail, Brown Flycatcher, Common Iora, Small Minivet, the distinctive southern race of the Orange‑headed Thrush, Tawny‑bellied Babbler and Brown‑cheeked Fulvetta.
Initially there is a steep scramble over some rocks but after the path is good and offers an excellent vantage over the tributary and much of the mangroves.

 Birdquest, Trip Report
Fire-tufted Barbet, Black-and-crimson Oriole, Javan Cuckooshrike, Rufous-browed Flycatcher, Mountain Fulvetta and Long-tailed Sibia were all seen easily and three tame Large Scimitar Babblers, huddled-together on one branch were a surprise.
Birds are often very tame at this popular retreat, and leisurely walks along various narrow roads through the forest enabled us to catch-up with most of the specialties of the area.
We started off on the right foot, with two big surprises in the mangroves and coastal swamp forest at Kuala Selangor, a superb roosting Barred Eagle Owl in broad daylight, and a Mangrove Pitta which sat in full view on a branch as it carried food to an unseen nest.

We only visited once and trying to make the white blobs in the estuary into anything is pointless.
We also saw white morphs at Backwoods and Saligao Zor and a long tailed brown morph at East Baga.
300m to the north of the pitta site is a large red and white mast.

Mostly seen in the Ghats at Backwoods and Bondla but singles were also present in Arpora Wood and at Tiracol Fort, where Abhi saw a bird resembling Pygmy Blue Flycatcher.
White morph birds were present at Backwoods and Arpora Wood.
Ones and twos noted in similar locations to Asian Brown Flycatcher at Backwoods (in the camp), Bondla, Chandranath Hill and in Arpora Wood.

The whole year round the common species are Puff-throated Bulbuls (noisy), Grey-headed Flycatchers (the centre specie of mixed flocks), Black-naped Monarch (often mistaken for Hainans Flycatcher, which is more uncommon here), Hill Blue Flycatcher, Ruby-cheeked Sunbird, Little Spiderhunter, Speckled Piculets.
Soon after Checkpoint 1 (the one on the road towards Muang Khong) and before the steep climb, there is a trail on the left hand side.

 Bird Trip
It is possible to hire a car in Skagway and drive up to White Pass, stopping wherever you want, but we wanted to experience the train ride and see the Trail of 98, which the prospectors took in the Goldrush days, over a century ago.
The weather was fine and sunny, and the water calm, blue and dotted with small pieces of ice.
Passerines seen in descending order of occurrence included Meadow Pipit, Redwing, European Starling, White Wagtail, Snow Bunting, Common Redpoll, Northern Wheatear and Winter Wren.
