By the first area of water we found a Blue-breasted Kingfisher posing for us and then a little further along we were at the main pool.
Bill found a lovely Grey-headed Kingfisher sat in a bush, and other species were soon appearing from all directions.

Highlights of our walk around Bijolo were seeing Sun Squirrel, Green Vervet and Red Colobus Monkeys, excellent views of a Blue Breasted Kingfisher, nesting Senegal Parrots, good, close views of 3 Black Shouldered Kites on the wing, Little Bee Eaters, Lizard Buzzard, Oriole Warbler, Swallow-tailed Bee Eater, and Violet Turaco.
We reached Kotu Bridge and were treated to fantastic views of Pied Kingfishers as they hovered above the river.
He was enthusiastic, seemed to enjoy seeing birds as much as we did and had an uncanny ability to find birds in thick cover after only having had the briefest glimpse of the bird flying in.

I've loaded up images of Blue-breasted Kingfisher (Halcyon malimbica) and Black-headed (= Red-bellied) Paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone rufiventer) to the gallery which I think are not on the database and include 2 more images here of other species: African Pied Hornbill (Tockus fasciatus) and Yellow Penduline Tit (Anthoscopus parvulus).
Apologies for the quality of the images-the Hornbill wouldn't allow close approach whilst the penduline tits were hyperactive wee swines that wouldn't sit still!
