BLUEBACK arrived at Subic Bay, Luzon, Philippine Islands, from her third and last war patrol 20 July 1945.

 History of the USS Blenny
After 16 days on patrol, she had her most successful day of the war on 20 March when she sank three enemy ships in one 24-hour period--the 500-ton cargoman Yamakuni Maru, the 834-ton Nanahin Maru No. 21, and the 1,039-ton cargo ship Hosen Maru.
After receiving two rescued aircrewmen from Blueback (SS-326) on 25 March, she set a course for Subic Bay and a refit.
She completed that in-port period on 16 Apri1 and put to sea for a patrol off Indochina and in the Java Sea.

On 15 November, the submarine departed her assigned area and arrived at Majuro on the 24th for refit.
On her second war patrol, 20 December 1944 to 5 February 1945, Sea Fox returned to the Nansei Shoto as a unit of TG 17.19, a coordinated attack group comprised of herself, Blueback (SS-326), and Puffer (SS-268).

After two months he was transferred to the USS Trout (SS 202) where he made eight war patrols in the Pacific before leaving her in December of 1943 while she was on overhaul in S.F. Calif. The Trout went back on patrol and was in an area where an 87,000 ton Japanese freighter was sunk.
The freighter was being escorted by sub killers, the Trout was presumed lost with all hands.
