Discussions of bluffing in business commonly invoke reservation prices, but need not; one could misrepresent his position in any number of areas including the financial health of a company poised for merger, the authority that has been granted to him by the parties that he represents, or even one's enthusiasm about a project.
Bluffing has long been a topic of considerable interest to business ethicists. On the one hand, bluffing seems to bear a strong resemblance to lying, and therefore might be thought to be prima facie impermissible.
If bluffing did not exist in poker, and everyone’s bet merely reflected the strength of their hands, there would be no game at all since the final results would all be made apparent.

Yet, the advertising concept deserves serious thought, and, in some bluffing occasions, it might well be better to be caught, depending on how much potential advertising value the hand in question holds.
Consequently, it is best to bluff or be caught bluffing when there are eight players at the table (but not necessarily all active in the pot) than when there are only three.

Bluffing and bluff strategy is one of the hardest but most fundamental parts of poker.
That being said, bluffing is no small task, as it requires good poker sense, timing and guts to pull it off.
Then it's easy, because although it's not true, but it always seems like this is the case: when you are holding a powerful hand, everyone and their grandma is out to call you down to the river.

UPF - what chips to use when bluffing?
I am accustomed to playing limit live games with the same denomination of chip, so it doesn't really come up there, but is definitely a factor in no limit tourneys in which there are many different chips in play.
So then I watched the other average/mediocre players that I play with(and beat) and noticed that they would play the same way and be much more likely to back down from a bet made with a few of the highest denomination chip.
Psychologically, it may have some impact, but in general, I just vary it up, meaning: sometimes when I have a real hand I'll put in two chips and sometimes I will put in four chips or whatever the chip amount may be.

Really, this is another type of bluffing that could happen in any type of game, but what I'm most interested in are those games which purposefully make action bluffing a part of their gameplay.
Bluffing is one of those game systems that you should at least think about for any game.

I noticed when i was watching poker on TV that a few of the players did not go all the way through with thier bluffs - for example they would bet all the way through to the river and then check the river which IMO is an extremely weak play.
The problem most players seem to have is that the idea of bluffing only occurs to them half-way through the hand, when they suddenly decide they can skilfully represent a flush, trips, whatever.

 The art of bluffing
Anyway as far as my own experience on bluffing goes there are three things you have to know to pull a bluff.
When bluffing, you have to be able to sense weakness in your opponent, and say you raise pre flop with nothing, and bet the flop with nothing, and you get a flat call, then you are either being trapped or they are fishing for outs.
But basically, be consistant and aggressive when bluffing, you can't get scared after a call on the flop, or even the turn in some cases, if they are waiting for a spade on the river, if there aint a drawing hand out there that could possibly be hit on the river then bet again.
