Adansonia gregorii, commonly known as boab, is a tree in the family Malvaceae.
Boab is deciduous, losing its leaves during the dry winter period and producing new leaves and large white flowers in late spring.
A large hollow boab just south of Derby, Western Australia is reputed to have been used in the 1890s as a lockup for Aboriginal prisoners on their way to Derby for sentencing.

It was a sad day the fact a Dundee legend had passed away on Friday and all at "Boab's Little Piece of Scotland" give their sincere commiserations to Bert Slater's family at this time.
Saturday's Derby may not have been a spectacle of fabulous Football, but it certainly showed Dundee's new found grit and determination, with outstanding displays being put in by Alex Rae and Gary MacKenzie, both showing their professionalism throughout the game.

These plants are deciduous and in all ways match descriptions for gregorii.
The problem arises in relation to another plant I purchased from Fairhill Native Nursery north of Brisbane which was labelled 'Boab, Adansonia sp.'.
This plant fits all the right descriptors for digitata, non-deciduous, larger leaves, etc. It is definitely not a Brachychiton or anything else that could be construed as confusing, and is quirte dissimilar to my other plants - hence my mystery!
