Bob and Rose is a British television drama, originally screened in six one-hour episodes on the ITV network in the UK in the autumn of 2001.
Bob was played by stand-up comedian and actor Alan Davies, who was at the time best known for his lead role in the BBC television mystery series Jonathan Creek.
Rose was played by actress Lesley Sharp, who was nominated for the BAFTA and Royal Television Society Best Actress awards for the part.

The hybrid genre rose to prominence in the Southwest during the early and mid-1930s, where the combination of country music and contemporary sounds attracted audiences who would not otherwise have been taken in by the big band craze.
Out of the many Western Swing orchestras only Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys emerged to reach national prominence, scoring several pop hits in the early 1940s with their innovative sound.
That same year they had their first national hit with ''New San Antonio Rose.'' The band remained popular for the next couple of years, until the war took its toll on membership.

On December 28, 1992 Howard was devastated by the passing of his bass man Bob Rose who was with him for at least 45 years.

As director of Dark Space Research for Beseler, the manager of Digital Business Development for Ilford, and VP of Marketing for Bogen, Rose has been a contributor to a number of publications including the Focal Press Encyclopedia of Photography, and has taught at Parsons School of Design.
In 1999 he formed his own company, VMI.
