 Smacking Children - Organisations opposed
One could reasonably conclude that it is the financial incentives associated with this "professional" status which leads them to systematically misrepresent the scientific position for their own benefit.
Beth says "It might mean that parents who injure their child are no longer acquitted because a judge or jury thinks that marks and bruises are reasonable, but it still fails to acknowledge children should have the right to the same protection from assault as other people in society.
It's not just a question of ensuring that injured children are better protected, although this is important, it is also a question of changing attitudes to using violence as a solution to any sort of issue".

David Simcock said of the winner, who was getting off the mark at the nineteenth attempt: "He's been largely disappointing, but works really well at home.
Just Bob started slowly from his wide draw on the far side and then lost further ground by tacking across the back of the field to race in the centre, where he was unlucky to be hampered by Compton Akka's fall.
He made-up such a lot of ground that he would have won in another couple of strides, and he will be one to bear in mind again over this trip when there is a big field and plenty of pace.

 Basho Music contemporary jazz
Still under 30 years of age, Gwilym Simcock is one of the most gifted pianists and imaginative composers working on British scene.
Although principally a jazz artist, Gwilym is breaking new ground between genres and often uses classical reference points in his composed work - he recently devised a solo piano project using the piano works of Shostakovich as a starting point and in 2005 premiered a piano concerto especially written for him by Tim Garland.
Simcock has rocketed through jazz education and out into a creative world of his own almost overnight.

The Party made all sort of bold noises about revitalising and reinventing itself at its conference over the weekend, but Bob Simcock showed it's still the same old party of smug bigots with a frankly nasty attack on people who are "just too comfortable on the benefit".
Yes, Simcock seems to believe being a solo mother on the breadline isn't hassle enough.
The funny thing was, two days after Simcock's moronic tirade, a long-term study showed that the right-wing truth that hordes teenage girls get pregnant just to get the DPB is just a right-wing fiction.
