Bob Stewart performs with his band on Saturday at the Donkey during a release show for his new album “A Million Miles Away from Home.” The title track was written to commemorate the deaths of 14 Ohio Marines in Iraq.
Stewart figured that factored out over the population of the United States, losing 14 soldiers in the state of Ohio would be the equivalent of more than 350 Americans dying in two battles fought over just a three-day period.
Stewart says the spike in traffic occurred in part due to the posting of a slideshow produced by Paul Shroeder, father of LCPL Edward "Augie" Schroeder, an Ohio State University graduate killed in action in Haditha on Aug. 3.
