The Flag Controversy in Norton, Virginia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-06)
Bo Willis, the student’s father, came to Tuesday’s school board meeting to complain that his son was unfairly singled out by Lowdermilk three days after a Nov. 10 incident involving his son and friend Aaron Bentley.
Bo Willis told the board that his son wore a shirt with the upside-down flag to school on Nov. 10 and removed it after other students in an English class became upset because it might be offensive to veterans attending a school assembly later that day.
Willis stated he meant no disrespect, that he simply wore it to "let people know this country isn't as great as it should be." Willis' very words emphasize his disrespect.

Cricinfo - Players and Officials - Bob Willis
A case could be made that Bob Willis was the most courageous fast bowler who ever played for England.
After operations on both knees in 1975, when he was 26, he seldom bowled without pain, and at one stage had to run five miles a day to build the strength to play at all.
Willis, a bony 6ft 5ins with sharp knees and elbows and a cascade of curly brownish-auburn hair, was a rarity among international sportsmen: no athlete in the accepted sense, his only aptitude was bowling, and that mainly through aggression and determination.

Willis is perfect as the impulsive and romantic Joe, while Thornton seems to be having a ball playing the constantly ailing (in his mind, anyway) Terry.

SPLICEDwire | "Bandits" review (2001) Barry Levinson, Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Cate Blanchett
Conspicuously charming, mannerly Joe Blake (Bruce Willis) and precariously nervous hypochondriac Terry Collins (Billy Bob Thornton) are amusingly winning jailbirds from the moment they spontaneously hijack an unexpectedly accessible cement mixer to bust out of the slammer.
And Willis exudes pent-up sad dog charm as the gang leader with questionable smarts.
All three plumb their characters' souls for authenticity and human irony that give "Bandits" a surprising depth to go with its capricious wit -- so much so that you really start to care how the romantic triangle will be resolved, since Kate can't make up her mind about whom she loves.
